If every life has a defining moment, mine came in the back seat of a Chevy Suburban in 1963. My parents were up front as The Beatles’ She Loves You crackled across the airwaves. My life would never be the same.
It began a lifelong love affair with music. From a high school rock and roll band, to a stint on string bass with a jazz ensemble, to writing and performing while a student at Harvard, to the west coast touring with Linda Ronstadt, Andrew Gold, and the Eagles, and through the 80’s and 90’s as an LA pop songwriter, I’ve never looked back.
My songs have been recorded by lots of artists Google me if you’d care for titles.
While it was soccer that got me an invitation to attend Harvard, it was golf that was my real passion. From the time I was old enough to swing a club, I passed the hours utterly absorbed in the game.
A golfer always has a goal. So in 2006, when I first broke 80, a new quest emerged-- one glorious lousy round of golf played at level par.
So began the writing of Die Happy. What began as a simple golf story became something much more.
